When we talk about figs, Aydın is absolutely in the first place. %60 of the world fig production takes place in Turkey and %70 of the Turkish figs are produced in Aydın city.

Both yellow and black variety figs are produced in our city. Black figs have very good shelf life performance. Black figs keep it’s freshness for a long time after pluck that enables us to export the fruit to far distance countries in their best quality fresh forms. However, yellow varieties do not have good shelf life performance in fresh forms so those yellow ones are mostly dried, in fresh form yellow ones can only consumed in geographically near cities.

Fresh black figs are exported to Russia and Europe with refrigerated vehicles, also exported to Far East Asia and Middle East by direct air freight in different packages per customer request. We prepare our fresh figs in requested forms (partiallt green and black) taking into consideration the transportation time, market perception and the selling conditions in delivery country. Green parts of the fruit gets dark on the way to the final destination and figs are delivered in their requested perfect forms.

Harvest season starts in July and ends in October.
